MPE and engineer Eduardo Gerardi have been working together for almost 20 years in a very fruitful relationship that has produced a number of novel products applying robotics to entertainment and leisure. Footballmania is one of them.
Held every four years, the FIFA World Cup is doubtless one of the biggest, most followed events worldwide. Over one billion people spread across the continents watch on television some or all of the 64 games of the competition.
Football seems to be the one truly global sport. Cultures, languages and religions unite under one shared passion. People identify with the great players. Yashin, Puskas, Di Stefano, Eusebio, Pelé, Beckenbauer, Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo, or Messi are international idols and represent the highest levels of excellence in this sport. Having transcended their own clubs and nations, they are admired by football fans everywhere.
Everything that surrounds football, and particularly the World Cup, attracts large audiences and creates expectation. Footballmania thus benefits greatly from word-of-mouth publicity connecting it to the upcoming World Cup.
Footballmania is a family leisure and entertainment center where visitors can enjoy and take part in new, surprising, original games related to football. The premises feature large screens for the viewing of all 64 games, and attractions created around football for children.
Footballmania features five different spaces:
Ball games are at the heart of Footballmania. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a variety of football games where their skill with the ball will be put to the test and where they will compete with friends and family in a spirit of good fun.
The combination of the latest developments in robotics and multimedia has made it possible to create new kinds of interactive football games that are highly entertaining and suitable for all ages. Visitors can try their luck as a goal keeper about to save a penalty kick, cheer at the top of their lungs to bring their team to victory, or see who gets to stay the longest on top of an untamable football.
